    Seckford Golf Club - Local Rules

    1. Out of Bounds (Rule 27) A ball is out of bounds if it is beyond the boundaries of the course defined by white posts, fences, hedges or ditches bounding the course. Internal out of bounds is marked by white posts on the left hand side of the 18th fairway when playing the 18th hole only.
    2. If the ball strikes any power line, the player MUST disregard that stroke, abandon the ball and play another ball (without penalty) as near as possible to the spot from which the original ball was played in accordance with Rule 20-5.
    3. Protection of young trees identified by rabbit guards or wraps. If such a tree interferes with the player's stance or the area of their intended swing the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty and dropped in accordance with procedures prescribed in Rule 24-2b (immovable obstructions). The ball may be cleaned when so lifted. Exception:- A player may not obtain relief under this Local Rule if (a) it is clearly unreasonable for them to make a stroke because of anything other than the tree or (b) interference by the tree would occur only through use of an unnecessarily abnormal stance, swing or direction of play.
    4. Stones in Bunkers. Stones in bunkers are Movable Obstructions (Rule 24-1) applies.
    5. Roads and Paths. All man-made paths and tracks made by Green-keepers vehicles are immovable obstructions. Relief MAY be taken under Rule 24-2b.
    6.Water Hazards (Rule 26) Ordinary water hazards are marked by yellow posts and lateral water hazards by red posts.
    Penalty for breach of local rules. Match Play: Loss of hole Stroke Play: Two strokes.

    Play is prohibited from the Ground under Repair (GUR) on hole 9. Relief may be taken by either using the drop zone provided or taking relief using rule 25-1
